Linda Starnes Chapman, 75, of Greenwood, died Wednesday , February 12th, 2025 at her home.
Born in Greenwood SC, she was the daughter of the Late Marion Starnes, and Lela D Starnes. Linda was a member of Siloam Baptist Church.
Linda spent over 40 years as a specialist at Solutia, forging lifelong friendships and leaving a lasting impact on her coworkers. Beyond her professional dedication, she loved spending time at the lake, fishing, and nurturing her beautiful garden. Linda was affectionately known as "Elly May" by her husband for her love of animals, big and small.
A proud mother to her daughters Amanda and Valerie, Linda was a true nurturer at heart. She dedicated herself to ensuring her girls were always well-presented, right down to their crisp, white Keds—something she took great pride in. Her bond with her granddaughter was unlike anything else; they shared countless moments together, often "sharing" the recliner, a testament to their close-knit relationship. Linda had a heart of gold, always making those around her feel cherished and loved. Linda filled the lives of those who knew her with joy and warmth.
As we remember Linda, let us carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and the importance of family. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
In addition to her parents Linda was preceded in death by her husband James Chapman, and sister Nancy Free.
Surviving are her daughters; Amanda Chapman, and Valerie Leary; brother, Wayne Starnes (Evadne); sister, Debra Todd; grandchildren, Easton James Leary, and Alanna Rayne Tullos.
Services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Sunday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jackie Earl Hughes officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
