LovieAnna Loucille Hicks Phillips-Myers, 85, of Greenwood, wife of Leroy D. Myers, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Rev. William Marvin Hicks and Nannie Lee Synder Hicks. She managed LullaBye Nursey in Greenwood County for over forty years. Loucille was highly respected and loved by the families she cared for and loved all of them dearly in return. She was a very faithful woman that showed tremendously through her dedication and devotion to teaching Sunday School for over forty years as well. Caring for others, especially children, was her ministry in life. She loved Our Father God, and her faith was unwavering. Loucille was a fighter for everyone, especially those who couldn't fight for themselves.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy of the home; children, Lee Marshall "Junior" Phillips, Jr. of Greenwood and Dr. Aimeé Lynn Phillips Roark (David K.) of Ninety Six; sisters, Thelma Goff, Effie Hayes (Curtis), and Dorothy "Dot" Breedlove (Guy); brother, Rev. Bill "Peanut" Hicks; grandchildren, Lee Phillips, III, Jeremy Phillips, Anacaroline Roark, and Andrew Roark; great grandchildren, Jamisen and McKenna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of over fifty years, Lee Marshall Phillips, Sr.; sister, Mary Hicks; brother, James "Jim" Hicks; brother-in-law, Bill Goff; and sister-in-law, Peggy Hicks.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Oakbrook Memorial Park with the Rev. Nathan Hayes officiating.
