Louie Blanchett Bowie, 72, of 205 Sanders Drive, husband of Orma Copeland Bowie, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Hospice Hose. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Kirk and Gaynell B. Bowie. Louie was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during Peacetime and retired from Monsanto. He was an avid deer hunter and a member of Lakeside Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a daughter, Libby Bowie; two sons, Steve Bowie and Greg Bowie, all of Greenwood; two sisters, Betty Gregory of Greenwood and Nita Brunson of Greenville; a brother, Tommy Bowie of Columbia; best friend, Billy McKee of Greenwood; four grandchildren with special granddaughter, Summer Elizabeth Chapman; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Hinton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Hospice House, 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
