Margaret Louise Butler, 93, formerly of 426 Pelzer Street, widow of Alvin "A.P." Pickens Butler, died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at NHC.
Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Annie Bell Lothridge Boyter. She attended Friendship Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her children, Geraldine McDowell (John) of Saluda, Ronald Butler (Drenda) of Greenwood, Jimmy Butler (Lynn) of Bradley, Patricia "Judy" Haynie of Greenwood, and Melissa Stroud (Tim) of Inman; a sister, Willie Bee Lanier of Clinton; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Toby Robinson; two brothers, Elbert Boyter and Frank Boyter; a son-in-law, Floyd T. Haynie; and a granddaughter, Karen Joy Haynie.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Boyd Arnold, the Rev. Johnnie Waller and the Rev. Stephen Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Wayne McDowell, Kevin McDowell, Austin Davis, Ray Holladay, Daniel Amerson, and George Tsantakis.
Honorary escort will be Keith Strawhorn, Brooks and Margaret McDowell, Sam and Vickie McDowell, Joel McDowell, Jeff Adams, and Josh Powell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
