Mattie Louise Hollingsworth Day, 74, of 714 Reedy Creek Road, Bradley, wife of James Day, died Friday, August 28, 2009 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Pattie Radford Hollingsworth. She was retired from Greenwood Mills, Mathews Plant and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her husband of the home; three sons, Smiley Day, David Day and his wife, Peggy, and Frederick Day, all of Greenwood; a sister, Shirley Butler of Greenwood; nine grandchildren, Christopher Day, Jami Day, Jennifer Nardelli, April LaPoint, Michael Day, Brad Day, Amber Day, Chad Day and D. J. Day; and five great grandchildren, Logan Day, Madelyn Nardelli, Layla Day, Sophie LaPoint and Gabriella Nardelli. She was preceded in death by a son, Gene Day and her brothers, Gene Hollingsworth, James Hollingsworth, Grady Hollingsworth and Bill Hollingsworth. Pallbearers will be grandsons and Dennis Butler. Honorary escort will be nephews, Fred Smith, James Smith, Billy Hollingsworth, Sammy Hollingsworth, Randy Day and Jerry Day. The family is at the home.
