Emily Louise "Lou" Canfield Wheeler, 92, of Ninety Six, widow of John Wood Wheeler, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood County, she was the daughter of the late Amos Watson Canfield, Sr. and Annie Hamilton Canfield. Lou was an extraordinary woman who loved her family. She had a lifelong fondness of horses and attended numerous trail rides over the years, making friends wherever she went. She will be loved, cherished and missed always.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Anthony "Tony" Wheeler; and three brothers, Frank, Watson and Marion Canfield.

Lou is survived by her children, Jay Alan Wheeler and Phillip Lyle Wheeler (Teresa); grandchildren, Renee Lynn Wheeler (Jonathan) and John William Wheeler (Heather); and four great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at Oakbrook Memorial Park.
