Obituary
Lucy Buchanan Simpson, 86, formerly of 218 Marshall Circle, widow of Harold Simpson, died Monday, October 9, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Parksville, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Alice Adams Buchanan. Lucy was formerly employed with Parish Pharmacy and was a member of New Market Baptist Church.
She was twice married first to the late Jones Scott and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are two sons, Ray Scott (Ann) of Ninety Six and W. O. Scott (Sondra) of Greenwood; a stepdaughter, Kathy Butler (Sammy) of Greenwood; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Stanley Sprouse officiating.
Honorary escort will be Barry Whitworth and Bobby Stone.
The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
The family has requested that flowers be omitted and memorials may be made to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
Family members are at their respective homes.
