Luster Meints, 68 of 311 Hunter Creek Road, wife of Jerry Dennis Meints of the home, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Hospice House. Born in Roan Mountain, Tennessee on September 19, 1943, and lived most of her life in Maryland. She resided in Greenwood for the past 13 years. Luster was preceded in death by her parents William Frank Presnell and Emma Pauline Hamby Presnell, two brothers Lloyd Presnell and Dale Presnell and one sister Frankie Bushey. Mrs. Meints is survived by her husband Jerry Meints of Greenwood, one daughter, Melissa Meints of Elkridge, MD, one brother Harry Presnell and wife Judy of Roan MT, TN; five sisters, Jean Johnson and husband Thomas of Forest City, NC, Phyllis Howell of Greenwood,SC, Brenda Robinson and husband Raymon, of Simpsonville, SC, Taffy Jo Hoops and husband Darryl, of Elk Grove, CA, Angela Voigt of Brunswick, GA, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services for Mrs. Meints will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, conducted at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by Bishop Timothy Wren and music by Sharon Ivey-Swofford, Kay Stratton and Annette Bayne. Active pallbearers will be Doug Pennock, Joel Manley. Daniel West, Marion S. Patterson, Jeff Buffington, and David White. Honorary pallbearers will be elders of Greenwood Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. Graveside service will follow the funeral in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
