Obituary

Mabel Johnson Rowe, 87, resident of Wesley Commons and formerly of 211 Duke Street, Ninety Six, widow of James Pinckney Rowe, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Hospice House. Born on November 13, 1921 in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late James Floyd Johnson and Eula Caldwell Johnson Brooks. She was retired from Greenwood Mills, Ninety Six Plant, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Mrs. Rowe was a member of Cambridge United Methodist Church and the Granny Davis Sunday School Class in Ninety Six. She was also a member of W.O.W. Camp 123 and a former member of the American Legion Post 103 Auxiliary. She attended 45 consecutive annual Ladies Night Banquets of the Eureka Masonic Lodge #47 A.F.M. Surviving are a son, James Larry Rowe ad his wife, Nancy, of Mauldin; a daughter, Brenda Stewart and her husband, Edward, of Ninety Six; four grandchildren, Ray E. Bishop and his wife, Hae Nan, of Los Angeles, CA, Dedee Rowe and her husband, Steele Pendleton, of Blythewood, Brenda Leigh Hill and her husband, Timothy, of Ware Shoals and Christy R. McCormack and her husband, Lanny, of Katy, TX; six great grandchildren, Jessica Bishop of Los Angeles, Anna, Alyssa and Trace McCormack, all of Katy, TX and Eva and Steele Pendleton, III, both of Blythewood; and a brother, James Johnson of Flint, MI. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Johnson and Lee Johnson and four sisters, Nell Mull, Eunice Price, Grace Ledford and Elizabeth Grogan.
