Mamie Elizabeth Anderson Blackstock, 92, of 92 Fourth Street, widow of Erskine Odell Blackstock, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Hospice House. Born in Waynesboro, GA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel D. Anderson and Marvie White Weeks. Mrs. Blackstock was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII. She was a housewife and a member of Abney Memorial Baptist Church where she was in the T.E.L. Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by a son, James Thomas Weeks; two sisters, Julia Sweatt and Annie Mae Smith; and two brothers, Robert Weeks and Bill Anderson. Surviving are a daughter, Christy Blackstock Grizzard of Vidalia, GA; a granddaughter, Judy E. Hilliard; and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chris Jackson, Al Nabors, Bryan Johnson, Rob Wahl, Don Vickery and Stan Bell. Honorary escort will be her nephews and the members of the T.E.L. Sunday school class.
