Margaret Salters Burckhalter, 84, of Greenwood, widow of Gerald Burckhalter, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at her home.

Born in Waterloo, she was a daughter of the late James "Preston" Salters and Agnes "Mae" Hill Salters. Margaret was a devoted member of her church, Greenwood Community Church of the Nazarene and a faithful Christian. She was delighted when she was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Sherry Lawlor (Rodney McCleese), Richard "Rick" Calkins, Joyce Gunter, and David Calkins; sister, Elaine Judy; brothers, Bill Salters and Marion Salters; grandchildren, Joseph Fecht, Sharon Morse, Walter Lawlor, Ashley Calkins, James Calkins, Wayne Calkins, Deidra Gunter, and Brett Calkins; great grandchildren, Reid Lawlor, Alex Fecht, Kaelyn Morse, Kara Morse, TJ Shipes, Jasmine Shipes, and Brayden Calkins; five great great grandchildren; and special friend, Lorraine Angelino.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lona Calkins.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at Greenwood Community Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Michael Castello officiating.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Sherry, 127 Kathwood Drive, Greenwood, SC 29649.
