Margaret Elizabeth Turner Newton, 62, of 418 Sirrine Street, Ninety Six, wife of Grady �Chris� Newton, went home to be with our Lord Saturday, May 10, 2014. She was surrounded by family and friends. Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of B.W. �Preacher� and the late Orene Ferqueron Turner. She was a member of Ninety Six Church of God Prophecy and a State Deaconess of the Church. She was a loving mother, devoted wife, and was known as Mama to many. Surviving are her husband of 44 years; five children, Wayne Newton (Linda) of Ninety Six, Candy Christian (Chris) of Greenwood, Rocky Newton of the home, Cindy Newton of the home, and Brenda Easler (Kenny) of Greenwood; a brother, Rev. Burnett Turner (Janice) of Johnson; a best friend, Cindy Echols of Ninety Six; and five grandchildren, C.J. Newton and Bella Goodman, both of Ninety Six, Amelia Christian, Titus Christian, and Roman Christian all of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Johnson. Pallbearers will be Shane Crouch, Donald Lee Rice, Kenny Easler, Dennis Arnold, Brad Baughman and Phillip Cromer.
