Iris Marie Pearson (Nee Sudduth), 95, formerly of 104 Piedmont Street, widow of Cecil Dewey "Bill" Pearson, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home of Greenwood, SC, surrounded by her loving family.
Born February 25, 1924 in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Sudduth and Sarilla Horne Sudduth Weeks. She was retired from the textile industry and was a member of New Market Baptist Church.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her four sisters and four brothers.
Surviving are her daughters, Gail Morris (Larry) of Greenwood and Sara Ann Cheskiewicz of Austin, TX; four grandchildren, Kim Harrison (Clay), Robin Gorman (Dan), Cecily Cheskiewicz (Dave Miller) and Scott Cheskiewicz (Jennifer); eight great grandchildren, Craig McAllister (Ashley), Brandon Bradberry (Courtney, Patrick Gorman, Abigail Wirtz (Kennedy), Maureen Grezes (Aurelien), Peter Gorman, Aaron Gorman and Anna Cheskiewicz; four great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, includng, Wayne Blackburn, whom he thought of as his second mother.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Stanley Sprouse officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Harley Funeral Home.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Gail Morris, 119 Pucketts Point Road, Greenwood, SC 29649.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home and Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont for the excellent care shown to Mrs. Pearson during her final journey.
