Frances Marie Dobbins Timms, 75, widow of John William Timms died on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Wellstar MCG Health in Augusta, GA.

Marie was the daughter of the late Charles Donovan "Don" and Sarah Frances Bonds Dobbins. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and retired from Kemet after 30 years.

Marie, known affectionately as Granny to those who loved her, was a woman with a green thumb who found joy in the beauty of the outdoors. She had a welcoming spirit and a gift for striking up conversations with anyone she met. A dedicated mother to her daughter Lisa, Marie took immense pride in her family, especially her granddaughter, Dixie. One of her greatest joys was attending all of Dixie's volleyball and sporting events as the team cheerleader, showcasing her unwavering support and love.

In her leisure time, Marie enjoyed watching sporting events, with a special fondness for football and a tendency to root for the team in the lead. She was also a devoted fan of the legendary NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt. Known for her lively spirit, Marie loved dancing, traveling, and embracing life's silly moments as the life of the party.

She was a member of Lowell Street United Methodist Church.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Lisa Timms; her granddaughter, Dixie Mayberry (Stuart); a great grandson, Lincoln Shaw Mayberry; two brothers, Ronnie Dobbins (Patricia) and Donnie Dobbins (Claudia); and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Oakbrook Memorial Park.
