Marilla Dickenson Sprouse, 94, of Greenwood, widow of Joe Miller Sprouse, died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at her home.

Born in Castlewood, VA, she was a daughter of the late Virgil Garnet and Mary Orlena Meade Dickenson. Marilla was a homemaker and a member of First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children, Richard Sprouse (Linda) of Greenwood, Linda C. Hudson of Wilmington, NC, and Janice Lynn Sprouse of the home and five grandchildren, Justin Sprouse (Tonya) of Bradley, Jay Sprouse (Halee) of Abbeville, Stephanie Crouch (Erik) of Greenwood, David Hudson (Maureen) of Wilmington, NC, and Stephen Hudson (Yolanda) of Georgia.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Jane Sprouse; one sister; and nine brothers.

Services will be held from 3 pm on Sunday at First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryant Sims officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Preston Sprouse, Jimmy Sprouse, Fred Sprouse, Stanley Sprouse, Shane Sprouse and Schanen Sprouse.

Honorary escort will be Bob Rushton, Robert Harrison, C Brown, Randy Day, Lee Polatty and Danny Polatty.

The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 2 to 3 pm.
