Marion David Elrod, Jr., 80 of 215 Park Street, Ninety Six, husband of Carole Harley Elrod died on Friday, January 29, 2016, at Self Regional Medical Center. Born Thursday, May 7, 1935 in Anderson, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Marion David Elrod, Sr. and Jessie Dailey Elrod. Marion served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korea Conflict and was the former owner of MD Elrod Painting. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are sons, Marion David Elrod, III (Vicki) of Casper, WY and James Alvin Elrod of Greenwood; a daughter, LaWana Barger of Sarasota, FL; a step daughter, Rhonda Morrison Powell (Jasper) of Greenwood; nine grandchildren, Katie Powell, Jay Powell, Butch Gauvan, Shannon Gauvan, Chris Gauvan, Kevin Pope, Tyler Pope, Alisha Elrod and Justin Hatcher. Pallbearers will be the men of Temple Baptist Church. The family is at the home of Rhonda Powell, 305 Starboard Tack, Stoney Point, Greenwood.
