Marvin R. Tanner, Jr., 61, of 125 Bridgepoint Road, husband of Martha Malone Tanner, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at his home. Born in Georgia, he was a son of the late Marvin R. and Gertrude Holloman Tanner. He was a graduate of East Rome High School and Georgia Technical College and was formerly employed by Monsanto, Greenwood and retired from MEMC, St. Louis. He was a ranger at Stoney Point Golf Course, was a former member of The Golf Club at Star Fort and was Catholic. Surviving is his wife of the home; two sisters, Patricia Shuford of North Augusta and Mary Parker of Rome, GA; several nieces and nephews and his Scottish Terrier, Katie. He was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas B. Tanner.
