Mary A. Horne Cowan, 83, of Greenwood, widow of Harry Cowan, died Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Emerald Gardens.
Born in Greenwood County, she was the daughter of the late Marcus H. Horne and Emmie Ouzts Horne. She was retired from Capsugel and a member of Abney Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Samantha Cowan.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas Cowan (Sharon) of Greenwood, Johnny Cowan (Sherry) of Cross Hill and Bobby Cowan of Greenwood; six grandchildren Taylor Cowan, Matthew Cowan, Alexa Cowan, Paige Cowan, Jeannie Brown, and Tony Godfrey and two brothers: Marcus Hazel Horne Jr. and Robert Lake Horne.
Services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Cowan, Matthew Cowan, Wayne Cowan, Randy Cowan, Mark Riddle, Mike Thigpen and Jimmy Burton.
The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home from 1-2 pm.
Honorary escort will be Dennis Easley and Brent Bennett.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 326 Montague Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
