Mary Ellen Hilley, lovingly known as Mamie, was born November 9, 1940, in Greenwood, SC to the late Eddie Lewis Lawton, Sr., and Marion Davis Lawton. She married the love of her life the late Michael "Mike" E Hilley in 1958. It breaks the families' heart to announce her passing occurred on July 7, 2026.

Mary was a true believer Christ died for all of us. She knew the Bible better than many and loved to share the Word with you. Her joy was to sit with her grandchildren and make sure they knew scripture and prayed for them endlessly to know our Lord.

Mary loved watching the Clemson Tigers and the Braves. She was so happy to see two of her grandchildren followed in their grandfathers' footsteps and graduated from Clemson University.

Mary is survived by her two children, Mike (Amy) Hilley and Angela (Patrick) Moore; grandchildren Amanda Moore, Michael (Kali) Hilley, Marilyn Hilley, Mary Ashley (Jason) Alexander, and Jonathan Blake Moore; and 5 great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Mary's life will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Siloam Baptist Church fellowship hall. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

The family are at their respective homes.
