Mary Mitchell LaJoie, 89, widow of Alfred J. LaJoie, died Saturday, February 25, 2017 at NHC Health Care.

Born in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Lloyd and Lois Ellen Jennings Mitchell. She was a seamstress for more than 50 years and employed by Eastwell Sportswear for 25 years. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Mitchell and all of her brothers and sisters.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Wells Miller (Bill) of Simpsonville and Iris Stroud of Greenwood; a son, Joey LaJoie of Summerville; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steven Evans officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve Werner, Chris Tissot, John Wells, Bill Miller, Chris Hodges and Hunter Hodges.

Honorary escort will be Dr. Carlos Manalich.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff of NHC and Caris Hospice for their loving care to Mrs. LaJoie during her time there.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
