Mary Teresa O'Mara (Argentieri)

June 29, 1932 - September 2, 2024

Mary Teresa passed peacefully away on September 2, 2024 in Greenwood SC after a brief illness.
She was predeceased by her parents, in laws Bill and Josephine O'Mara, Son-In-Law William Cottingham, and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and dear friends.

Mary Teresa is survived by loving husband of 67 years, Edward O'Mara; daughter Mary Jo Cottingham (Jean Claude Durocher) of Ware Shoals, SC; son William (Kieron); grandsons Brian, Casey, Sean (Stephanie) and soon to the world great grandson Noah, all of Charlotte NC; and their dear goddaughter Lindsay DeFrancisco, Buffalo NY.

Mary was a graduate of Hornell High School and Geneseo State Teachers College. She spent the majority of her teaching career in the Binghamton NY area. She was a substitute teacher at Chenango Forks Central Schools before taking a permanent teaching position with Chenango Valley Central Schools where she completed her career.

Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first.
The family would like to thank the dedicated nurses, doctors and staff at NHC Healthcare for providing Mary with excellent care in a loving environment. Also our special thanks to Dr. Rahal and his staff at Self-Regional Hospital Cancer Center. You all are Angels on Earth!

The memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Matthew Houle officiating.

A reception will follow at the Harley Family Center, 1101 Main Street S, Greenwood, SC 29646.

Graveside service will be at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hornell NY.
