Mary Lou Hall Powell, 81, of 306 Grove Street, Apt 2-B, widow of Vernon Sheppard and Albert Powell, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Born in Aiken, she was a daughter of the late Swinton and Neller Heyward Hall. Mary retired from Greenwood Mills and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a son, James Sheppard (Sissie) of Hodges; three daughters, Alice Doolittle (Harold), Brenda Avery (Marshall) and Cathy Murray (Ray), all of Greenwood; two brothers, S. J. Hall (Anna) of Greenwood and Melvin Hall (Dale) of Aiken; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Polly Lawter; three sisters, Hazel Al, Shirley Steel and Nilee Clark; three brothers, Ellerbe Hall, Monroe Hall and Roosevelt Hall; and three grandchildren, Frieda Johnson, Ann Davis and Jason Sheppard.
