Mary B Rivers

Mary Beatrice Rivers, age 84, of Ninety Six, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 11, 1942, in Spring Creek, Florida, to the late William and Hazel Smith.

Throughout her life, Mary found joy in simple pleasures. She had a passion for reading, particularly her Bible, and was an avid collector of lighthouses. Mary enjoyed immersing herself in the warmth of the Hallmark Channel and the creativity of home and garden shows. Her ability to appreciate the small things in life left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

She was a devoted mother to her four children, Tami (Carl) Hatler, Angi (Ken) Young, Jimi (Kimberly) Morris, and Cndi Norton, and a loving grandmother 11 cherished grandchildren: Glen and Lee Robertson, Forest Weathers, Tanner Morris, Taylor (Neil) Baker, Heather (Ethan) Joyner, Hannah (Kade) Berry, Mercedes (Alex) Ouzts, Savannah (Tony Ray) Green, Chevy (Rachael) Jones, and Harley Norton, multiple great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by one sister, Carlene Wimberely and two brothers; Earl and Ronald Smith along with her best friend, Linda Shirley.

Mary was preceded in death by four sisters; Lena Pearl Walls, Yvonne Nancy Hartsfield, Maxine Lacy Conley, Inez Ruby Love and two brothers; Dennis Smith and Pete Smith.

Mary's gentle spirit and nurturing heart will be profoundly missed by her family and friends. She was a woman of grace who cherished her loved ones above all else.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at a future date in Florida.
