Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Weeks Scott, 98 of 321 Briarwood Road, Greenwood, widow of James Murray Scott, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in McCormick County, she was a daughter of the late John Allen Weeks and Maggie Eva Walker Weeks. Mary was a graduate of Greenwood High School and was a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Weeks Rogers; three brothers, Ralph Weeks, James Weeks and Billy Weeks; and two great grandsons, Myles Scott Mayfield and Brandon Young.

Surviving are three children, Glenda Young (Rollie), Carolyn Mayfield both of Greenwood and Donald Scott (Jeanette) of Fountain Inn; two sisters, Jean Pressley (Dewitt) of Florence and Nira Miles of Greenwood; a brother Lester Weeks (Bobbie); eight grandchildren, Tammy Davis, Barry Mayfield, Tony Young, Roger Young, Karen Pressley, Stacie Scott, Chad Scott and Allison Scott; seventeen great- grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 4 pm on Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bryant Sims officiating.

Pallbearers will be Barry Mayfield, Tony Young, Roger Young, Dylan Davis, Jim Davis and Austin Young.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
