Mary Sue Wallis, 81, of 1009 E Northside Drive, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at NHC HealthCare.

Born in San Ridge, SC she was a daughter of the late Eugene R. and Ruby Lee Ellenburg Hastings. She was a Lander graduate, where she majored in English and minored in Math. Mrs. Wallis was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Coronaca were she taught Sunday School.

Surviving are her sister, Betty Minor; half-sister, Deloris Kernells, both of Greenwood; her half-brother, Billy Hastings of Callison; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Jimmy Hastings.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday at Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Harley Funeral Home and Crematory.
