Mary Timmerman Whatley, 86, of 1780 Mountain View Road, King, NC., formerly of 305 Grannys Lane, Greenwood, SC, widow of William Thomas Whatley Jr., died Saturday, July 21, 2018 at her home in King, NC.

Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Henry O'Neal Timmerman and Mary Deadis Timmerman. Mary was a member of First Damascus Baptist Church. She kept the nursery for over 50 years and served on many committees.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Bo Tolbert; a sister Dora Jacques; a brother, Alfred Timmerman; and a grandson, Jamie Korrek.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Neal and Irene Whatley; Tom and Sherri Whatley, all of Greenwood; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Junior Medley, of Hamptonville, NC; eight grandchildren, Linda Tullis (Jerry), Angie Mitchell (Brent), Kevin Whatley (Jennifer), Wanda Capps (Aaron), Rob Tolbert (Amy), Jennifer Cochran (Marty), Tina Profitt (Brian)) and Paige Foutch (Jeremiah); and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Timmerman and Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm.
