Minnie "Maye" Satcher Riddle, 94, widow of George Lamar Riddle, died Monday, May 29, 2017 at her home.
Born in Edgefield County, she was a daughter of the late Bryan and Milie Fulmer Satcher. She retired from Greenwood County Schools as lunchroom supervisor and was a member of the D.A.V. and the V.F.W. auxiliaries. She was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Fellowship Class and the Mary Witt Circle. She attended Salem United Methodist Church, Greenville, where she was a member of the Frances Vaughn Sunday School Class and the Ruth Circle.
Maye loved her church, her family, and her country. One of her favorite passions was cooking for others.
Surviving are her daughter, Jeannie Elliott (Eddie) of the home; a sister, Wynona Jacobs of Lexington; two grandchildren, Tracy Davis and Dean Elliott, both of Greenville; and a great grandson, David Elliott.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Georgia Summey and Helen Timmerman Jordan.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Rehoboth United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carol Pepper Wray, Pastor Christine Matthews, and Pastor Sylvia Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Rehoboth United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Goree, Harry Metts, Richard Gardner, Mike Inman, Brandon Reed, and Gus Catarius.
Honorary escort will be members of the Fellowship Class of Rehoboth United Methodist Church and the Frances Vaughn Sunday School Class of Salem United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
