Melanie "Mel Mel" Barfield West, 58, of Greenwood, widow of William Anthony West, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023.

Born in Cordele, GA, she was a daughter of Jimmy Barfield and the late Jane Hogan Barfield. Mel Mel was a smart, sweet, and caring woman, who was always looking out for her family. She always made sure everyone's stomach was full, especially with her famous jalapeno poppers. She loved watching movies with "Dumb and Dumber" being her favorite and reruns of all her favorite shows. Above all else she loved Jesus and was strong in her faith.

She is survived by her daughters, Amber Banda (Emillio) and Ashley Barnhill (Brach); sister, Katrina Fountain; grandchildren, Janie Mae, Lily, Nova, Jayda, and Bracy; aunts, Pollye Hogan, Dot Hogan, and Hazel Hogan; and special friend, Mr. Vernon Delee, who walked through faith with her.
