Melody passed peacefully in her sleep on the morning of August 25th, 2016, after a long hard battle with illness.

She was a beloved daughter to Bill and June; a sister to Linda and Roy; a mother to Linda, Jim, Charmei, and Keith; a mother-in-law to John and Kim; a grandmother and great grandmother to many; and a friend to all.

Melody had a great love for life and devotion to her family. She was a hopeless romantic, loved her pets, and had a wicked sense of humor. Although she came from humble beginnings, she always carried herself with pride and dignity. Melody was a free spirit, she followed her heart to many places and many lifestyles in this great country. She loved potted plants, sewing, knitting, cooking, Elvis music, and scary movies. More than anything in life, she was proud of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids; and she loved being the matriarch of the family.

A small informal Celebration of Life will be held for Melody on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Lake Strom Thurmond in McCormick, South Carolina.
