Melvin L. Williams, 80, of 511 Bolt Avenue, husband of Linda Able Williams, died Saturday, September 5, 2015 at his home. Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Jesse and Jessie Williams. Melvin was a U. S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He retired from Fluor Daniel and was a member of New Market Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a daughter, Debbie Webb, of the home; two sons, Jessie Williams and Tommy Williams, both of Greenwood; two sisters, Trevia Burnett and Mary Chambers, both of Greenwood; three brothers, Wayne Williams of MD, Gene Williams and Frank Williams, both of Greenwood; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jeff Temple, Kenan Williams, Caleb Biar, Austin Simpson, Brandon Jones and DJ Butler. The family is at the home.
