Obituary

S. Michael "Redd" Redd, 60, of Abbeville, husband of Deri Kay Redd, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Freeda Perry Redd. Redd worked for Smith & Waters Trucking Company and was a member of the Hardwood Cruisers Motorcycle Club. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed cutting grass and keeping his yard landscaped. Redd was a loving husband and father and adored his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Redd Tripp and his fur baby, Goliath.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 26 years of the home are his children, Candace Miller Eagle (Joey) of Greenwood and Bryson Lawton-Butler (Brian) of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Laurie Redd Rush (Bob) of Greenwood; brothers, Jeff Redd of Ninety Six and Robert Crosby of Summerville; grandchildren, Madyson Goldman, McKenna Goldman both of Ware Shoals, Bailey Butler and Blake Butler both of San Diego; brothers-in-law, David Kay and David Tripp; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Sampson.

Services will be held at 2 pm on Friday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Byron Wood and Rev. Dennis Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home before the service from 12-2 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Michael Redd Account c/o Harley Funeral Home PO Box 777, Greenwood, SC 29646 to help defray funeral cost.
