Strawder Michael Gambrell, 64, of 1014 Highside Street, husband of Katherine Fay Henderson Gambrell, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late James Boyce and Flora Ann Graydon Gambrell. He was employed by Greenwood County and was a member of the SC Law Enforcement Officers Association. Mike was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War and was a member of Ninety Six First Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife of the home; a daughter, Beverly Anne Alford of Ninety Six; a son, James Michael Gambrell of Greenwood and a brother, James Boyce Gambrell, II of Indianapolis, IN; four granddaughters, Abagail, Arianna, Alex and Jeanette Alford.
