Michael Dee �Mike� Owenby, 69, of 810 Briarwood Road, husband of Brenda Joyce Greene Owenby, died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Hospice House. Born in Hendersonville, NC, he was a son of the late William Gordon and Lula Jane Crisp Owenby. He was retired from CSX Railroad and was a US Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the DAV, where he volunteered by driving patients to the VA Hospital, was a former member of the Railroad Union and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Tim O�Connor of Simpsonville; a son, Michael Todd Owenby of Greenwood; a sister, Carole Owenby of Dunedin, FL; six grandchildren, Evan Owenby, Carson Owenby, Marina Owenby, Ella Owenby, Sean O�Connor and Erin O�Connor; and several nieces and nephews.
