Memorial Service
Harley Funeral Home & Crematory
2:00 - 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
Michael F. Williamson, 79, of Ninety Six, husband of Sally Sutton Williamson, died on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late James A. Williamson, Jr. and Madelyn Tegan Williamson.
Mike dedicated many years to his career at Lockheed Martin, retiring in 2010 as the Director of Site Operations and Sustaining Engineer. He was not only a respected professional but also a kind-hearted soul, always ready to lend a hand. He loved volunteering at the United Way, where he helped others through the MyFreeTax program-an effort that brought him immense satisfaction.
Life was a grand adventure for Mike. He had a passion for traveling, especially enjoying cruises, but nothing made him happier than spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. Beach trips were the highlight of his life, filled with laughter and cherished memories.
He served in the US Navy as an Electrician's Mate on the USS Shangri-La during the Vietnam era.
Mike is survived by his wife; his children, Michael J. Williamson, Sarah Williamson Ruff (Tyler), Patrick F. Williamson (Elizabeth) and Thomas A. Williamson (Pia Kristjansen); his brothers, James A. "Tony" Williamson, III (Mary), Christopher Williamson (Patty) and Joseph Williamson (Regina); grandchildren, James Ruff, Joseph Ruff and Kallen Williamson; and special lifelong friends, Brian Browne, Terry Rafferty and Henry McKeon.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Williamson; a grandson, Anthony Williamson; and special lifelong friends, Frank "Sam" Houston and Tom O'Donnell.
A memorial service, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel.
A reception will be held in the Tap Room at the Grand Harbor Clubhouse following the service from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646 (careofthepiedmont.org).
