Mikey Gene Rucker, a dedicated police officer and US Army veteran, passed away on August 26, 2024, in Greenwood, SC at the age of 70. Born on May 15, 1954, in Honea Path, SC, Mikey was a man of great commitment and service.
After earning his associate's degree from Anderson Bible College and his bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama, Mikey continued his education and obtained a master's degree from Troy State University in Criminal Justice Education. Mikey dedicated 40 years to a career in law enforcement, serving his community with integrity and passion. He valued education and the importance of lifelong learning.
Mikey's warm spirit and jovial laughter never failed to uplift those around him. A master of the grill and a lover of sharing stories, Mikey found joy in the simple moments spent with his loved ones, treasuring every opportunity to connect over delicious meals with his famous river slaw with his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted father to his daughters. He had a special place in his heart for his four-legged babies, Kevin, Chester, and Nina.
He is survived by his wife Patti L Rucker; daughters Allison Young, Kristen R Green (Marty), Erin Rucker, Sarah Huff (Jeremy); twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and dear friend Ronnie Dale Lewis.
In addition to his parents Joseph T. Rucker, and Betty A. Rucker, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emma McDowell.
