Milton E. Fowler, 91, of Greenwood, husband of Lucile R. Fowler, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Elberton, GA, he was the son of the late Jesse Milton Fowler and Mary Emma Hilley Fowler. Milton retired from Greenwood Mills where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He served on the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief for over ten years, assisting people affected by natural disasters. In Milton's free time you could find him cutting grass in his straw hat and overalls. He was a member of New Market Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Samaritan Sunday School class, the choir, a Sunday School director, and a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Miriam Fowler.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Lucile are special family friends, Melissa Decker and her husband, Brooks; their children, Andrew, Olivia, and Clara; Kelley Calvert and her husband, Shanon; their children, Will, Jake, and Alyssa; and many other friends.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Sprouse officiating. Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Charles Friday, Brooks Decker, Andrew Decker, Jake Calvert, Ethan Long, Tanner Hall, and Mike Gantt.
The family will receive friends before the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
