Mary Emma "Mollie" Williams Harts, 94, widow of Charles Henry Harts, died Thursday, October 19, 2023 at NHC Health Care.

Born in Ninety Six, she was the daughter of the late George Ernest and Georgia Lee Graham Williams. Mollie was a very active member of the Ninety Six community. She volunteered at the Ninety Six Senior Center and for the HOSTS program at Ninety Six Elementary School. She served on the board of Directors for the Greenwood-Abbeville Library, the Literacy Council of Greenwood and the Piedmont Agency on Aging. She also served as the county committee secretary of the SC Heritage Corridor of Greenwood County and had the honor of being appointed by Gov. David Beasley to serve on the Old '96' District Tourism Commission to promote tourism and travel in Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens and McCormick counties. She was a member of the Ninety Six/Greenwood Chapter of the NAACP, Ninety Six Chamber of Commerce, the Historic Ninety Six Development Association, Upper Savannah Minority Health Coalition and Bethlehem Baptist Church. She competed in the Mrs. SC Senior America Pageant in 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996.

Mollie is survived by two daughters, Drusilla Harts of Buffalo, NY and Mary V. Harts of Richmond, TX; grandchildren, Marlena Harts of Ninety Six, Brenda Harts and Cheryl Harts, both of Buffalo; and great grandchildren, Sidney Harts of Washington, DC and Mia Richardson of Buffalo, NY.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 28, 2023, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph Caldwell officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m at the church.
