Myrlon Jean Dorn Smith, 81,of Greenwood, wife of Charles "Charlie" Smith, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024 at her home.

Born on February 11, 1943, in Edgefield, SC, she was a daughter of the late Whitty Dorn and Nella Taft Dorn. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Myrlon shared a deep bond with her loved cat, Dustey. Her love for the outdoors was evident as she cherished moments basking in the sun, particularly on the lake and loved spending time with her grandson, Jakob. An avid reader, Myrlon found solace and joy within the pages of her favorite books.

Throughout her life, she planted numerous friendships, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a valued member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN, where her faith and compassion shone brightly.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Charlie of the home; son, Charles "Chad" Smith (Amiee Martin Smith) of Tennessee; sister, Eunice Horne of Greenwood; grandson, Jakob Smith of Tennessee; and many lifelong friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Clyde Smith officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating.
