Myrtis Williams Thigpen, 99, formerly of 2616 Edgefield Street, widow of Beauford M. Thigpen, died Monday, June 13, 2011 at NHC Health Care. Born in Avera, GA, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Berta Faglier Williams. Mrs. Thigpen retired from Greenwood Mills and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Billy Thigpen and his wife Ardala of Greenwood; a sister, Emolyn Norton of Branson, MS; and two granddaughters, Shannon Riley and Ashlee Riley both of Hodges. Pallbearers will be Michael Thigpen, Wayne Duncan, Steve Alexander, Mark Riddle and Mark Lagrone.
