Annie Myrtle Attaway McDowell, widow of Royce Irvin McDowell, transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Morning Side.
Myrtle was born in Saluda, SC on August 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Charles Morris and Orzena Attaway.
Myrtle graduated from Saluda High School in 1942 and then lived most of her life in Ninety Six. She loved the Lord and was a member of Temple Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was active in Woman's Missionary Union and served the church in various other ways. Myrtle was a member of American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She worked at Greenwood Mills and retired from Self Memorial Hospital in 1985. Myrtle enjoyed traveling and baking cakes. During her later years while residing at Morningside Assisted Living, she was happiest when giving out candy and visiting with family and friends.
She was pre-deceased by her husband of 67 years, a son; a sister and five brothers.
Surviving are a son, Donnie (Rhonda) McDowell; a daughter, Debbie McDowell, both of Ninety Six; grandchildren: Scott (Allyson) McDowell and Blair (Jeb) McDowell Patterson; great grandchildren: Bennett and Noah McDowell and Graylen, Kate and Mac Patterson.
Services will be held at 11am on Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Tommy Cartledge officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home on from 10 -11am.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Debbie McDowell.
