Nancy McLean Shaw, 88, of Columbia, widow of Thomas Mix "Mickey" Shaw,  passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026 at Life Care Center of Columbia.

 Born on March 27, 1938, in Greenwood, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Gartrell Evans McLean and Thelma Irene Robertson McLean Sadler. 

Nancy devoted much of her life to working with young children, sharing her kindness and patience as a teacher and aid in the Lexington County schools. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and later completed the Inhalation Therapy program at Greenville General Hospital. Her dedication extended beyond her career as she deeply loved Jesus, her family, and her church community at St. Andrews Baptist Church in Columbia.

She is survived by her daughters Cecilia Shaw Sandel (Ken) and Lisa Shaw Trotter (Mitch); grandchildren, Janna Miller (David), Jacob Sandel, Laura Green (Hunter), Whitney Trotter, and Luke Trotter; great-grandchildren, Miley Jennings, Presley Sherman, Bryce Sherman, Waylon Trotter, Lorelei Trotter, Jaxson Green, Rosie Green, and Jayce Green.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was  preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessie Avera.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Andrews Baptist Church in Columbia.
