Nancy L. Taylor passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at National Health Care, Parklane, Columbia, SC.
She was born to H. Lee and Sue B. Taylor on October 17, 1937, in Ware Shoals. Her family moved to Greenwood where she graduated from Greenwood High School and business school. Upon graduation she began work with the South Carolina Unemployment Commission. She retired from there after 30 years and continued to live in Columbia the rest of her life.
Nancy was an active member of Sherwood Forest ARP Church where she enjoyed working with children in Vacation Bible School and she was a member of one of the women's circles. During retirement she enjoyed spending time with friends and family and playing the piano. She helped care for her parents as they aged and spent many hours traveling between Columbia and Greenwood in order to do this.
She is survived by her brother Dr. Charles L. Taylor (Mary Frances), Blacksburg, VA; niece Susan T. Ficarro (John), Woodbridge, VA; nephew, James L. M. Taylor (Amy), Richmond, VA; great nieces Rebecca P. Ficarro, Canterbury, England; Sarah T. Ficarro, Woodbridge, VA; great nephews William Taylor and Wesley Taylor, Richmond, VA; an uncle, Charles Brissey, Honea Path, SC; an aunt, Ethel Taylor, Ware Shoals, SC; several cousins and special friend, Mary Hanna, Newberry, SC.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Sherwood Forest ARP Church, Columbia. Graveside services will be on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Greenwood.
