Nathan A. Simpson, Jr., 64, of 121 Augusta Circle, husband of Pat Barrett Simpson, died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at his home. Born in Tifton, GA, he was a son of Janet Elizabeth Stembridge Simpson and the late Rev. Nathan A. Simpson, Sr. He was a retired superintendent with Greenwood Metro District and was a US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Era. He served in the SC National Guard, was a member of Masonic Lodge #25, where he was a 32nd degree Mason and was a Shriner, going through both the York and Scottish Rites. He was a member of Hodges Church of God. Surviving is his wife of the home; his mother of Greenwood; a son, Joe N. Simpson and his wife, Nancy, of Greenwood; five daughters, Vanesa Mountz and her husband, Sam, of Greenwood, Liz Simpson of Ninety Six; Sissie Sheppard and her husband, James, of Hodges, Tammy Johnson and her husband, Tommy, of Chappells, Kim Morris and her husband, Jimi, of Ninety Six; a brother, Jansen Simpson and his wife, Elizabeth, of Ninety Six; 23 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Simpson.
