Nina Augusta Harper Mathis, 100, formerly of 213 Marshall Circle, widow of Roy Mathis, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 at NHC of Greenwood. Born in Salisbury, NC, she was the daughter of the late David and Jane Miller Lyerly. Nina retired from Greenwood Mills- Mathews Plant after 32 years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was a lifetime member of Mathews United Methodist Church. She was twice married first to the late Robert M. Harper and preceded in death by a daughter Ruby Jane Brown. Surviving are her son, Robert Harper of Greenwood; a sister Bertha Peeler of Salisbury, NC; grandsons, Robert �Bo� Harper and wife Linda, of Greenwood, Lindy B. Harper of Greenwood and Danny Brown and wife Tammy, of Charlotte, NC; a granddaughter, Ginger Cox and husband Mike of Sumter; great grandson, Trent Watford and wife Amy of Columbia; and one step granddaughter, Cindy Hutchins of Greenwood. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandson. The family is at the home of her son, Robert Harper, 205 Marshall Circle, Greenwood.
