Obituary

Nora Goss Pope, 96, of 110 Cherokee Drive, Greenwood, widow of DeWitt Albert Pope, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at her home.

Born in Canton, GA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Warren Goss and Louvenia Stover Goss. Nora worked for many years at T E Jones Furniture Store and was a former member of the Pilot Club. She was a member of South Main Street Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and Training Union for many years.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jerry Lee Johnson, Jr.

Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Johnson of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Richard DeWitt Johnson (Kelli) of Lumberton, NC and Nora Jean Bell (Jeff) of Eatonton, GA; six great grandchildren, Kara Johnson Sprouse (Butler) of Waterloo, Jamie Redd (Rodney) of Eatonton, GA, Samantha Harkins of Atlanta, GA, Madison Allen (Troy) of Raleigh, NC, Lynsey Hoppes (Peyton) and Erin Johnson, both of Clemson; and seven great-great grandchildren, Aiden, Anna Grace, Brantlee and Deacon, who spent a lot of happy times with Nannie, also Ashlyn, Alaina and Addie.

Services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with the Dr. Toby Frost and Bobby Sprouse officiating.

The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 pm.

The family would like to thank all the ladies of South Main Street Baptist Church for their faithful visits that meant so much to Mrs. Nora and a special friend Melvin Davis, who was more like a son to her.
