Nora Chipman Schaible, 86, of 1110 Marshall Road, wife of Elmer Frederick Schaible, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Poland, Maine, she was a daughter of the late James Alden and Mildred Hodgkin Chipman. Surviving is her loving husband of 62 years, Elmer. Also surviving are three children, Barbara (David) Burke of Jersey Shore, PA, Robert (Terry) Schaible of Winchester, VA, and Nancy (John) Keisman of Luling, LA; two sisters, Joyce Ruddick of Delaware and Jean Bliss of Florida; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She attended Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine, and was a graduate of the University of Maine, where she received a B.A. degree in Mathematics. While in Greenwood, she was a member of the Atheneum Study Club. She was active in the Main Street United Methodist Church, where she participated in the Susannas Womens Circle and the Main Streeters Adult Fellowship. Nora was a lifelong volunteer. She spent time at Brookgreen Gardens near Pawleys Island, SC, Hospice Care of the Piedmont, and at Wesley Commons. She also spent time volunteering at Main Street United Methodist food pantry. She was an active woman all of her life - enjoying golf, skiing, tennis, bridge, and community activities. She was an avid reader and completed daily crossword puzzles. At Wesley Commons, she enjoyed the Kitchen Band and spending time with friends.
