Norma Jean Somsel Hazlett, 85, of Greenwood, wife of Daniel Stephen Hazlett, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Wesley Commons.

Born in Dayton, OH, she was a daughter of the late Virgil J. Somsel and Dorothy Elizabeth Fehrman Somsel. She received her degree in nursing and was formerly employed with Miami Valley Hospital as a Registered Nurse. Norma was a member of the Stoney Point's Ladies Golf Team as well as various card game groups. She was a very social lady who never met a stranger. Norma was a friendly, caring and loving person to all she encountered. She was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel of Greenwood; children, Mark D. Hazlett (Lisa) of Dayton, OH, Valerie Hazlett of Fountain Inn, SC, , and Brian P. Hazlett, of Dayton, OH; siblings, John Robert Somsel of Madison, AL, Richard Somsel (Jeffery Roush) of Tampa, FL, Cindy Aleshire (James) of Prosperity, SC, and Patrick Somsel (Daniel DeForge) of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Alexander Hazlett Blackwell of Sterling, VA and Charles Webster Hazlett of Dayton, OH; and nephew, Gregory Somsel of Madison, AL.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Harley Funeral Home chapel.
