Obie Louden, Jr., 71, of 710 Weaghington Road, Bradley, husband of Rose Jennings Louden, died Friday, October 06, 2017 at Hospice House.
Born in Ninety Six, he the son of the late Obie Louden, Sr. and Jamie Magnum. He attended Ninety Six Elementary School and was a graduate of Edgewood High School in Ninety Six. He retired from Mona Motors in Philadelphia, PA after working over twenty years. He later was employed by UPS and Northside Middle School. Mr. Louden was a member of Marshall Chapel Baptist Church in Ninety Six, where he served as a trustee in the church and on the bus ministry.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children, Teresa Smith, Debbie Louden, Keith Louden, Basir Abdul Muhammad "Christopher Louden", all of Philadelphia, Jarvis Jennings, Shunda Searles, both of the home; his fur children, Pumpkin and Missy; his sister, Annie Jones (Walter Jones) of Florida; his beloved Aunt Georgia Louden of Ninety Six; mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Gilchrist of McCormick; brothers-in-law, Joe Martin (Nina) of Hinesville, GA, Tommy Martin, Johnny Gilchrist, both of Greenwood, Patrick Gilchrist, and Jimmy Gilchrist, both of McCormick; sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Warren (Lloyd) of Richmond, VA, Mamie Whitaker (David) of Ninety Six, Deborah Martin of McCormick, Nicole Bridges (Garry), and Patricia Gilchrist, both of Greenwood; seventeen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Kellar, Rev. Roosevelt Brooks, and Rev. Eric Morton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
