Odell Manley Murdock, 90, of Greenwood, widow of John W. Murdock, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Greenville, SC on February 25, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John B. Manley and Macie Powell Manley.
In her early years, Odell worked diligently in the local mill, where her passion for hard work was evident. She later found a fulfilling career as an associate at Chick-Fil-A for over 20 years, a position she cherished and poured her heart into. Her colleagues admired her kindness, dedication, and the joy she brought to the workplace. Odell was a lover of life's simple pleasures. Whether she was shopping for the latest find or enjoying quiet moments with her beloved dog, Bella. Above all, she cherished her family, spending countless hours creating memories that will be treasured forever. Odell attended New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she found comfort and community in her faith.
She is survived by her children, Freddie Payne (Pam), CathyBradley, and Mike Murdock (Carrie); sisters, Martha Jean Moon and Elizabeth Ann Spires; brother, Paul Manley; grandchildren, Sonya Davis, Georgia Lynn Bailey, McKensi Haynes, Abby Hembree, Leeann Pundt, Carlie Pundt, and Emerson Hurley; and special friends, Brandi Hurley (Danny).
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Oakbrook Memorial Park with Rev. Tim Ellenburg officiating.
