Mary "Pat" Patricia Mulkey Burton, 87, of Greenwood, wife of Jack Burton, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Piedmont, SC, she was a daughter of the late James and Eunice Thompson Mulkey. Pat worked as a registered nurse on the pediatric floor at Self Memorial Hospital for many years until she retired. She was a member of Abney Memorial Baptist Church. Throughout her life, Pat found joy in simple pleasures, relishing in baking delicious treats, playing the piano, and tending to her garden. She had a deep appreciation of the beauty found in God's creation, and she loved animals.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Burton; a sister, Evelyn Cox; and a brother Jim Mulkey.

Surviving in addition to her husband of the home of 69 years are her children, Jimmy Burton (Caroline) and Rayne Adams (Eugene); a brother, Spencer Mulkey (Frances); a granddaughter, Abby Adams; and her beloved cat, Sunny.

Services will be held at 2pm on Monday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Justin Arender and Rev. Jonathan Payne officiating. Burial will be private.
